Ibrahim Shihadeh, DMD
Dr. Shihadeh was born and raised in Rhode Island. He graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut in 2006, earning a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He was among the first class of students to complete the rigorous requirements for the new combined BS/DMD program and was immediately granted admission to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. During dental school, he had the opportunity to travel to Belize in Central America. While there with his group, he provided free dental care to adults and children in rural and impoverished communities.
He earned his DMD in 2010 and decided to further his training by completing a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at UConn. The residency program emphasized dental technology and the specialized care of medically fragile and complex patients.
Upon completion of the program, Dr. Shihadeh was recruited by Drs. Puerini, Sr, Saccoccio and Puerini, Jr to join their growing practice. Now a full partner, he continues to expand his knowledge base and skills with continuing education courses and study club groups with like minded dentists. Dr. Shihadeh places an emphasis on helping his patients maximize their overall health.
In addition to his private practice responsibilities, Dr. Shihadeh has been the chief of dentistry at Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston, RI since 2012 where he provides comprehensive dental care to the long-term care patients who reside in the facility. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the RI Dental Association and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Central New England Dental Research Group.
Dr. Shihadeh lives in Coventry with his wife and their 3 beautiful daughters. He enjoys coaching youth soccer as much as he enjoys playing soccer in various leagues around the state.
