APCO-X UV Systems Now Installed To Elevate Protection Of Our Patients And Staff
It may be a long time before things return to normal. Masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing are here to stay for the foreseeable future. Live sporting events, concerts and a trip to the movies will never be the same again. As we navigate through these uncertain times it is important that we remain vigilant and work together to ensure the health and well being of ourselves and our loved ones.
We should remember that taking care of one’s health goes beyond washing your hands and wearing your mask. Routine check ups with your primary care physician, managing existing health conditions with daily medications, maintaining a healthy diet, and seeking emergency care for serious medical situations must not be neglected out of fear. Your dental health must be maintained with proper brushing and flossing, good diet choices and routine dental check-ups and cleanings. If you experience a problem, ignoring it may result in the need for more extensive treatment in the future or worse – a toothache, an infection, pain or facial swelling.
Here at RI Dental Arts we are no strangers to sterilization, disinfection and cleanliness. In order to elevate the level of protection for our patients and staff you will see many changes when you arrive for your visit. From “virtual waiting rooms” in your vehicle, health screenings, contactless payment processing, enhanced PPE and one-way traffic, the changes are obvious. In addition, we have made several changes that may not be as obvious (or visible).
We recognize the importance of indoor air quality, especially in a health care facility setting. With that in mind we set out to enhance the extensive HVAC system at 115 Budlong Road. After doing our own research and consulting with local HVAC contractors we chose to install APCO-X UV systems in each existing AC blower.
As the air passes through the APCO-X installed in the AC blowers, microorganisms (viruses and bacteria) are sterilized by the UV-C light. This process can remove up to 99% of viruses, bacteria, mold and VOCs from the air. More information about APCO-X can be found at www.freshaireuv.com. Along with more advanced mechanical air filtration, the APCO-X adds an additional layer of protection for our patients and staff.
